Nobile di Montepulciano Wine Tour

Private Driver Service for a Montepulciano wine tour

The Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG wine is one of the oldest and well known Italian wines, and is produced in an area of exceptional historical and natural value.

The first winery that you will visit is right in the historical town centre, where the staff will show you the structure of the company; they accompany you to the characteristic historical cellar, the area in which the wines are left to rest, and then to the wine tasting, accompanied by a great lunch served by the winery itself. You will also have the chance to visit the centre of Montepulciano, a lovely little town which still retains its medieval and renaissance structure, with squares and streets rich with wine bars and craft shops. The excursion ends with a visit and a wine tasting in a second cellar, located in a spectacular and scenic area in the surrounding countryside, where you will be welcomed and accompanied by the company staff, all with stupendous views of the vineyards of Nobile, and of the town of Montepulciano.

Duration: Full Day approximately 7 hours – Half Day approximately 4 hours

It is possible for the tour to leave from locations in Tuscany and Umbria, within the areas in which we operate (click here to view map) and, based on logistics, the specific programme can be modified.

We ask you to contact us for more details regarding the itinerary, wineries visited and costs.

Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG wine: Is one of the oldest wines of Italy (testimonies from 783 BC) and also described by poets and writers for its delicacy. It is produced in a limited area of southern Tuscany, with Montepulciano at its centre, in a hilly area not more than 600 m above sea level. It is characterized by Sangiovese (Prugnolo Gentile) grapes (min 70%) and Canaiolo (maximum 20%), with the possible addition of other grapes from local vineyards (maximum 10%). The minimum alcoholic content is 12.5%, with a minimum of 2-3 years aging. Of garnet colour and with an intense perfume, it goes very well with red meats, game and mature cheeses accompanied by mushrooms and truffles. It is also great as a meditation wine.
