Cortona Syrah Wine Tour

Car Service with private drivers and luxury chauffeured sedans, limos, minivans for a Cortona wine tour

The area of Cortona is a rich and profitable region, where many varieties of grapes are produced and cultivated, whose point of excellence is without doubt the Cortona Syrah DOC wine. The first guided tour of a winery will take place in a historic villa which faces the town of Cortona, and which is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. You will be welcomed and accompanied by staff, who will be happy to tell you about the company, and about their working methods. The visit ends with a wine tasting, which may be accompanied by tastings of bruschetta, salamis and cheeses, or by a lunch prepared by the winery itself. After a short visit to the historical centre of Cortona, a delightful town perched on a hill, with a charming atmosphere and magnificent view of the Tuscan countryside, the tour will end with a visit to a second winery. While you walk through the vineyards the staff will explain the characteristics of the land and the methods of cultivation; afterwards you will be welcomed in to the winery to see its production areas, ending the visit with a wine tasting.

Duration: Full Day approximately 7 hours - Half Day approximately 4 hours

It is possible for the tour to leave from locations in Tuscany and Umbria, within the areas in which we operate (click here to view map) and, based on logistics, the specific programme can be modified.

We ask you to contact us for more details regarding the itinerary, wineries visited and costs.

Cortona Syrah DOC wine:  A relatively recent wine, but of excellent value and giving exceptional potential. It is produced in the south of Tuscany, in the area of Cortona, and it is characterized by Syrah grapes (minimum 85%) with the possible addition of other grapes suitable for cultivation in this territory (maximum 15%). The minimum alcoholic strength is 12%; with a ruby red colour, elegant perfume and a dry and harmonious taste, it goes very well with red meats, game and matured cheeses, accompanied by mushrooms or truffles. It is also great as a meditation wine.
